Red Velvet Graham Crackers

I know, you’re probably sick and tired of all the red velvet recipes.
I promise, I’m almost done with the red.

Graham crackers were one of the very first
store-bought-made-at-home
recipes I fell in love with.

A friend found this really old book
and thought I’d like it.

Not the catchiest of titles
Feed Me I’m Yours
it was a total made in the 60′s looking book,
but it was full of great toddler/baby food ideas
that you could make at home.

I had been making Stella’s baby food, but hadn’t really given much thought to what I was feeding Charlie
who was a toddler at the time.

There were cereal recipes, cookies, plenty of “finger food” ideas, even recipes for peanut butter play dough,
and an entire section on crackers.

Graham Crackers were the first  that I tried.
What toddler doesn’t love graham crackers?

It is still one of my favorite
go-to snack recipes for the kids.

and…
since this is Valentine’s week,
why not red velvet graham crackers.

I used my chocolate graham cracker recipe as a starting point
and simply used a bit less cocoa powder
added  vanilla, and of course
the red

Of course for Stella I had to make them hearts.

Enjoy!

  1. I’m never tired of Red Velvet! NEVER! Love these Heather!

  2. When my son was a baby he would eat only orange foods (carrots, sweet potato, squash) and really, truly the whites of his eyes began to take on an orange hue. Luckily, it was temporary :) I wonder if everyone will end up with pink eyes from all of this Red Velvet? :) I love all these different flavors (and shapes) of graham crackers and can’t wait to try them. Thanks!

  3. These sound amazing!! My kids will love em! I am a new follower!
