So…
today was the day
Public School
day 1
I was very nervous
The morning was more hectic than usual
with two different drop offs,
but everyone made it safely
and…
on time
whew, I cannot handle being late, not even by a minute.
All afternoon I wondered how it was going,
would she talk to anyone?
who would she eat her lunch with?
{I cannot stand to see the kids sitting by themselves}
would that be her?
if she needed something, would she raise her hand?
Pure torture…
for nothing!
ALL smiles from Stella at pickup
Thank Goodness!
She’s made a new BFF
{already}
they want to walk to school together
and a BOY gave her his phone number
{another boy offered to buy her lunch}
HELLO, they sure work fast in the fourth grade.
I made cookies just in case things hadn’t gone so well,
cookies always make things better.
Red Velvet Cookies
{I made a small batch – but the recipe could easily be doubled}
1/4 cup of butter
1/2 cup of sugar
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 tsp baking soda
3/4 cup of flour
slightly less than 1/3 cup of cocoa powder
dash of salt
1 tsp red food coloring
in a med bowl combine the flour, salt, baking soda and cocoa powder
cream together the butter and sugar
add the egg and vanilla {scrape the sides}
gradually add in the flour mixture
and finally add the food coloring
scoop large 1 tbsp size drops
bake on a parchment lined sheet
@375 for about 10 minutes
cool and sprinkle with powdered sugar
{I wish I could get my kids to eat cream cheese frosting}
Enjoy!

funny thing is that today a girl slipped Charlie a valentine – old school heart drawn with a BIG S + C inside:) I’m not ready for this!
