Well, we survived another Halloween, and
…there is entirely TOO much candy in the house.
Our day went something like this…
get up for school
make sure that costumes are ready
stop and get extra candy
{I’d hate to be that house}
pick kids up
find out that I have a few extras coming over
5:00
friends go home
shower
costumes
quick facetime with Grandma and Grandpa
friends arrive to trick-or treat
put candy in bowl
put bowl on table
move table near the front steps so that is is easily visible to all the kiddos
light pumpkins
finally, trick-or- treating
dinner with friends
9:00
We are making our way home
exhausted
sugared up
We arrive home,
and much to my dismay
find out that I never bothered to turn on the outside lights.
you know, the special Halloween lights
that let all the kids know
that we are READY with CANDY
SO, now we have WAY TOO MUCH CANDY
and I made granola bars to use some of it up
Peanut Butter Cup no-bake Granola bars:
2 cups of oats
1/4 cup of butter
1/4 cup of agave
1/4 cup of brown sugar
about 10 mini Hershey bars and
10 Reese’s peanut butter cups
line a square baking dish with parchment or foil
chop up the peanut butter cups and spread them on the bottom of the pan
in a saucepan
combine the butter, agave, and sugar
melt, stirring until the sugar dissolves
pour this over the oats
combine well
press the oats in an even layer over the PB cups
melt the chocolate bars
spread the chocolate on the oats
let cool
{I put them in the fridge before cutting}
cut into bars
Enjoy!
I think next year I may join Ian for his “convention” in Las Vegas:)

Yum! I’m a sucker for anything peanut butter, and no-bake, that’s even better!!!
That is just genius to use the candy! So I could tell myself I am actually not eating candy then…dangerous!
that is what I was thinking – it’s not candy – it’s a granola bar:)
This is such a great way to use up halloween candy! YUM!
I will be doing this again for sure:)
Great idea! I made sure to buy candy that I didn’t like and practically throw it at the trick or treaters so we had nothing left lol But these look delish.
I’m a little behind but I wanted to say thank you so much for linking up with the GFC Collective! Hope you acquired some new friends

What a great way to use up the candy! I just sit on my couch and shovel it in on Halloween night…
Ha – that’s what i usually do
I’m always fond of no-bake. These look delicious.
I think I would love these even if I had to buy the candy:) Just dropping in form Six Sister’s Blog Hop to check these out. I am definitely pinning:)
