Before today, I had never made snickerdoodles.
I know, crazy huh
Especially, considering that I am addicted to cinnamon and sugar on anything.
They also happen to be my all-time favorite cookie.
BUT…being the wonderful, selfless, mother that I am
I make the cookies that my kids enjoy.
Chocolate Chip
If I’m lucky I can add peanut butter
or PB cups
Heaven forbid if I happen to add oatmeal
the HORROR
or raisins
Yesterday, while enjoying a quiet trip {child free} at Target
I found mini caramel-apple milky way candy bars.
Oh my goodness.
If you have not tried them, you should.
We’re not BIG candy eaters, but these jumped right into my cart,
and as soon as I got home I knew what I was going to do with them.
Chocolate Caramel-Apple Snickerdoodles:
15 mini caramel-apple milky ways {frozen}
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp slat
1 1/2 cups of flour
sift together the flour, salt, and baking soda
beat the butter and sugars until light
add in the egg and vanilla
add in the dry ingredients
chill for at least 30 minutes
once chilled
using 2 tbsp of dough
fold around one mini candy bar, and roll into a ball
roll in the cinnamon sugar {2 tbsp sugar combined with 1 tsp cinnamon}
place on lined cookie sheet
bake@350 for about 15 minutes
The perfect fall cookie, even when it’s 100 degrees.
Hopefully Mother Nature gets the hint soon:)
Enjoy!

I need these. They look beyond amazing!!! {And I’m in the OH THE HORROR raisins camp. Blech.}
Ohh, these look amazing! I am going to have to try this one!
I’ve made a version of these caramel-stuffed cookies. They were a hit but only when warm. I’ll have to try them again!
Oh, these sound fantastic!
I LOOOOVE those dang candies; they’re so tasty, and normally I’m not even a big Milky Way fan! There’s just something about that caramel apple-y spice that gets me, and these snickerdoodles look AMAZING. Cinnamon and caramel will rule the world one day.
seriously – I’m really not a big candy fan – but those bars are SO good.
