I’m not sure that there is a dessert easier than Rice Krispy treats.
and…easy is good when you are time crunched.
To say that I have been time crunched lately is an understatement, and I’m afraid my family has suffered the most.
Not a lot of creative cooking lately.
It’s pretty sad when your son asks the lunch monitor to tell you that Ben’s pressed panini looked really good, and that he would love a lunch like that.
UGH
SO, I decided to get back to basics with a twist.
The classic krispy treat with just a hint of apples and cinnamon.
I cannot believe I have’t done this before.
and…I got a few points back from Charlie.
Apple Cinnamon Rice Krispy Treats:
In a large pot melt 4 tbsp butter
add one bag of marshmallows
stir until melted
add 1/4 cup of ground dried apples, and
1 tsp of cinnamon
to this stir in 6 cups of crisped rice cereal
press into a 9×9 pan (we like our treats thick)
once cool, cut into squares
Enjoy!

This looks like a great way to dress up an old favorite. Good job.
Yes, please. I’ll take the whole tray. And, um, pressed panini???? My kid is lucky if she gets salami AND a string cheese.
