Sunday is our family day.
It’s the day we try and limit errand running.
Enjoy a quiet morning.
Do something fun together,
and my favorite part…
family dinner.
We eat together every night, but on Sunday we get out the good dishes (usually), set a beautiful table, and eat in the dining room.
It’s also the meal that I spend more time preparing.
I cannot wait until fall so I can roast a chicken, but for now most of our cooking is still done on the grill.
For me, chicken on the grill is best served with a great BBQ sauce.
This BBQ sauce is my absolute favorite, and by far the best that I’ve ever made.
It’s also pretty easy.
For the sauce:
3/4 cup of brandy
1 3/4 cup of ketchup
1/3 cup of brown sugar
5 tsp of ancho chili powder
2 cloves of garlic
1/4 of an onion
finely mince the onion and garlic
in a sauce pan add the onion, garlic, brandy, and ketchup
bring to a slow boil
stir in the brown sugar, the chili powder
you may add 1 tsp salt – to taste
reduce the heat and simmer for 45 minutes
You just can’t beat bbq chicken:)
Enjoy!

Looks like delicious sauce!
Mmmmm…I’ll have to put this one on hubby’s list. Yum!
I live for BBQ sauce–it’s SO good and I put it (along with every other condiment I can grab) on everything. This looks so easy; I’ll have to make it and proceed to douse everything I eat with it!
I rarely to never will use a BBQ sauce unless I make it myself. Thanks for sharing this recipe.
