I almost did it.
Shopping at Target, I almost put a box of granola and cereal bars in my basket.
School hasn’t even started, and I was going to break the deal I made with myself.
NO pre-packaged lunch goodies!
I mean it.
I put the items down, walked slowly out of the snack aisle, and headed home.
However, school begins in a matter of days, and I need snack items for lunch boxes.
I’m going to need ideas – SOON
Staring blankly into my pantry, inspiration struck.
I have graham cereal, homemade marshmallows, and chocolate chips.
triple score
S’more cereal Bars:
melt 3 tbsp of butter
add in 3 cups of marshmallows
stir to melt
add in about 5 cups of cereal and 1 cup of chocolate chips
press into a pan (I used 9×9)
cool
cut
perfect for packing
Enjoy!
I almost forgot – I’m guest posting today @Bacon Time
hop on over for a visit:)

What a great treat! I need to make more snacks for our lunch boxes. It’s so easy to grab an overpriced box of snacks…but so much better and yummier to make our own!
I hope I can keep it up:) Hope Jordan is enjoying 2nd grade
Oh, my! What a fantastic idea! I love recipes that are quick and only need a few ingredients.
those are always my favorite – especially when I already have what I need:)
I wish I had these treats in my lunchbox as a kid! They look much better than the prepackaged kind. And these were made with homemade marshmallows which makes them infinitely more delicious.
funny – we always had homemade treats as kids – and all I wanted was a chips ahoy:)
Yum! These look like they would go over really well with my nieces!
These sounds insane Heather! I’d love for you to share at my link party. http://www.whitelightsonwednesday.com/2012/08/wednesday-whatsits-23.html
I would eat the entire pan of these! YUM!
I would make these for my kids lunches and then probably eat the entire pan before packing lunches. Yummy!!!
