S’more cereal bars

I almost did it.
Shopping at Target, I almost put a box of granola and cereal bars in my basket.
School hasn’t even started, and I was going to break the deal I made with myself.
NO pre-packaged lunch goodies!

I mean it.

I put the items down, walked slowly out of the snack aisle, and headed home.
However, school begins in a matter of days, and I need snack items for lunch boxes.
I’m going to need ideas – SOON

Staring blankly into my pantry, inspiration struck.

I have graham cereal, homemade marshmallows, and chocolate chips.
triple score

S’more cereal Bars:
melt 3 tbsp of butter
add in 3 cups of marshmallows
stir to melt
add in about 5 cups of cereal and 1 cup of chocolate chips
press into a pan (I used 9×9)
cool
cut

perfect for packing

Enjoy!

I almost forgot – I’m guest posting today @Bacon Time
hop on over for a visit:)

  1. What a great treat! I need to make more snacks for our lunch boxes. It’s so easy to grab an overpriced box of snacks…but so much better and yummier to make our own!

  2. Oh, my! What a fantastic idea! I love recipes that are quick and only need a few ingredients.

  3. I wish I had these treats in my lunchbox as a kid! They look much better than the prepackaged kind. And these were made with homemade marshmallows which makes them infinitely more delicious.

  4. Yum! These look like they would go over really well with my nieces!

  5. These sounds insane Heather! I’d love for you to share at my link party. http://www.whitelightsonwednesday.com/2012/08/wednesday-whatsits-23.html

  6. I would eat the entire pan of these! YUM!

  7. I would make these for my kids lunches and then probably eat the entire pan before packing lunches. Yummy!!!
