banana split {smoothie}

I don’t mean to be a whiner, but it is HOT.

Really HOT
Like 107 HOT
Too hot for food HOT

I may not be ready for the early mornings of our back to school schedule, but I am completely ready for fall weather.  Hot and I just do not get along all that well.

Unfortunately, here in Folsom fall may not make an appearance until November, so I better learn to make the most of it.

When it’s too hot to cook, but you need a little something, we make smoothies.
Throw fruit, juice, ice in a blender and voila – breakfast, lunch, snack is done.

This smoothie is as good as a milk shake, and good for you.
I may just learn to embrace the heat after all.

Banana Split Smoothie:
In a blender combine 1 banana
handful of strawberries halved

1 cup of dark chocolate almond milk
just a little crushed ice

blend until smooth

a banana split minus all the guilt

  2. Mm! Yesterday, during all the National S’mores Day commotion, everyone neglected to mention that yesterday was also National Banana Split Day! This smoothie sounds like the perfect way to beat the heat… which I had no idea, but we share! You live in Folsom? I’m in Rocklin! We should grab coffee sometime–and maybe do a HomeGoods on Douglas shopping spree?? :)
