You heard correctly; I did say healthy.
Maybe more like healthy-ish.
We love our rice krispy treats, but with all the buttery, marshmallowy goodness, they really should be eaten in moderation…and who can do that?
Certainly not me. (especially not the birthday cake treats) They are just too good.
Thankfully, I found a great recipe idea over at Chocolate Covered Katie; if you haven’t visited her yet, you should.
These are delicious, and chocolate, and a treat you don’t have to feel guilty about if you happen to eat the whole pan:)
For the treats:
Combine 1/2 cup almond butter (you could use peanut butter – that would be delicious)
with 1/2 cup light agave nectar (honey or maple syrup would work too)
heat over medium until the “butter” melts
mix in 3 cups of brown rice cereal and 3/4 cup of cocoa powder
press firmly into an 8 by 8 inch square pan and chill
cut
and…
Enjoy!

Happy to follow you thanks to clairejustine bloghop… Now, you’re in my reader, my tweets etc and Now, i could have cooking idea if i don’t find inspiration.
Have a nice week end
Yes! Anything with cocoa krispies that’s labeled “healthy” is a must-make in my book!
Heather!!!! I also LOVE chocolate rice crispies!!!

You make me laugh with the “healthy-ish” treats!!! But it IS better than the fully loaded treats, right? we cut here and there and in the end it helps!
I have to start making a schedule to try new things from the blogs I follow!!!
