French Toast Casserole

I love Sunday brunch.

Weekends are a great time to linger around the table, enjoying coffee and great food.
On today’s menu ~ French Toast Casserole.
It was so simple to put together, and if you can wait a bit for your breakfast to be ready (it does take a bit to cook), it is a really easy way to make great french toast.

  French Toast Casserole:
1 loaf of brioche or challah (sliced)
1 1/2 cups of milk
5 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
1 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp nutmeg
3 tblsp sugar
dash of salt
1 tbsp butter

Do:
Pre-heat the oven to 350 F
lightly butter a 9 x 13 baking dish
layer in the bread slices

whisk together the milk, eggs, vanilla, sugar, and spices
pour over the bread slices
let the bread soak for about 10minutes
dot with the butter

bake for 45 – 50 minutes
serve hot with maple syrup or powdered sugar:)

Enjoy!
