My kids are CRAZY for nachos! Usually just chips and cheese. Sometimes a bit of salsa, and avocado (if I’m lucky), but usually just chips and cheese. Not exactly health food. Last week, nachos were requested daily for lunch. Could be worse I suppose.
This week we are back to school. Some of us are more excited than others:)
I thought I would surprise them with dessert nachos for an after-school treat!
I’m not going to tell them that it’s a healthy – ish way to snack. (there is an apple underneath all that gooey goodness)
For the nachos:
2 tart apples (1 per snacker)
2 tablespoons of melted chocolate (we used chips)
2 tablespoons of softened peanut butter
2 tablespoons of caramel sauce – recipe here (or use melted caramels)
toppings – nuts, sprinkles, choc chips
Do:
wash, core, and cut apple
drizzle with peanut butter, chocolate, and caramel
add any extras – we used mini-chips
Doesn’t get easier than that.
Enjoy!
