{Cinnamon Toast} Pull-apart Bread

Tuesday is a busy day for our family.  Besides the school and homework routine, we also have to get to football practice and Faith Formation.  Hopefully there’s time for dinner:)
Tonight’s Faith Formation class is in preparation for the children’s First Communion, and I was asked to bring some bread for practice.
Bake bread – no problem.  As long as I was making bread, why not make it fun.
The house smells CRAZY good; unfortunately, the bread is not for us:(
I just may be baking again tomorrow.
For the bread:
2 1/2 – 2 3/4 cups flour
1 pkg yeast
1/4 cup brown sugar
dash of salt
4 tbsp butter
2/3 cup milk
2 eggs
Do:
Warm the milk with the butter (until the butter is melted)
stir in the sugar
let cool to luke warm, and then mix in the yeast
combine the flour, and the salt – make a well in the center
stir in the eggs and the milk/yeast mixture
knead by  hand or with the dough hook on a stand mixer
cover and place in a warm spot until it doubles (about an hour)
For the filling:
3/4 cup sugar
2 tsp cinnamon
I would have also used nutmeg, but since it’s for kids I left it out this time
2 tbsp melted butter
Do:
Roll the dough into a rough rectangle
brush with the melted butter
sprinkle with the cinnamon /sugar mix
cut into 4 or 5 equalish (not quite a word) strips
cut the strip into squares (about 6 groups)
line in a buttered bread pan
cover and let rise again
looks ready to bake

Bake the bread at 350F for about 30 minutes

Let cool, and carefully remove from the pan (it helps to run a knife around the edge)
{Bread} ♥
Enjoy!

  1. I love these pull apart breads – there are so many ways to go with them and how could you not have fun pulling a hunk of this off :-)

  2. Your brad looks sublime!

  3. I’m so jealous at your pull-apart bread. I made one this weekend, and the yeast wasn’t rising, so it looked nowhere near as good as yours!

  4. Mmmm how good this looks! I have yet to make a pull apart bread! This looks delicious!
